"Coco" -Pixar Animation Studios’ movie was suit for this Halloween season. I watched it because my roommate allowed me to use her Netflix. It was the nice movie more than I have expected. So, I will write down my comment of that movie.
At first, I somehow was not willing to see that movie. However, these days my campus and dorm are started to be decorated by Halloween ornaments and I became to want to do something which is suit to Halloween event. What is more, I had a plenty of time. Then I turn on the Netflix and watched “Coco”.
This movie contained both human energy and its fragility.
The stage of the model is Mexico and music was very cheerful. I like it very much. The movie focuses on the day of the dead which is kind of Halloween event in Mexico. In the day of the dead, Mexicans decorate skeletons colorfully, and place beautiful petals and pictures. “Coco” reproduces its culture. In Japan, I never paint skeletons, decorate alter and graves in a bright color. Instead, I wear black and simple cloth and try to create silent and quiet atmosphere so that dead person can sleep peacefully. Therefore, I can learn how different people treat death people and that was really interesting and new for me.
It was on cloud nine to see the conversation among people who are alive and dead. I believe this is a kind of humans dream and movie realizes it. In the story, hero’s (The hero’s name is Miguel) families try to help him, even if his grand-grand-grand pa or grand-grand-grand ma has never seen him before. I felt the strong connection of family.
Although the movie was cheerful one, I felt sad too. Movie depicts the fragility of human. I learned that the word repeated in this movie, “Remember me.” contained pains and hope of human. It is next impossible to be remembered forever by someone, but almost all human long for being remembered especially by their family. The contrast of cheerful and funny scene and hope of “remember me” gave me a strong impression of fragility of human beings.
Any way I can enjoy watching move very much.
